Jebel Al Akhdar – The Green Mountain

Level: Dromedary

Day 1:  We leave Muscat for Birkat Al Mauz, then climb the Jebel Akhdar to finally reach Saiq on the plateau. Discover terraced hillsides before exploring the old village of Wadi Bani Habib. Our camp is across Ar’Ruus.

Day 2:  We start our hike in the canyon of Ar’Ruus, around 7 a.m. The unspoiled terrain is all still very authentic and genuine. We come across old villages and enjoy exceptional views across the wadi. We return to Muscat in the late afternoon.

Bedouin Camp

Level: Dromedary

Day 1: We take route 23, which brings us to Ibra before reaching Al Shariq, the starting point of our Bedouin adventure. The first evening is spent in the dunes of the Wahiba Sands.

Day 2: We go on a camel trek, walking alongside or up on a camel, guided by our Bedouin friends. An evening around the campfire in the middle of the dunes, the night in our tents.

Day 3: An early start with breakfast to enjoy the sunrise before returning to our Bedouin camp. We return to Muscat in the late afternoon.

The Summit of Jebel Shams

Level: Goat

Day 1: We leave Muscat for Nizwa where we stop to explore the souk and the fort. Then to Al Hamra and a dip in the Wadi Ghull with its amazing canyon. Back along the road to the plateau of  Jebel Shams. A night in tents.

Day 2: A wonderful stage of our trip, doing a little over 1200 m of vertical climbing to reach the highest peak in the Sultanate of Oman. We go back down the same route to our camp, and a night in our tents.

Day 3: A much easier hike today, following the balcony path which leads to the old abandoned village of Sap Bani  Khamis. A four-hour round trip, making a magnificent end to our tour. Return to Muscat in the late afternoon.
